CONSIGNOR CHECKLIST

IMPORTANT TRANSITION INFORMATION

Carol is retiring, and our storefront will close at the end of the year. During this transition, we are accepting a limited number of exceptional items by appointment only through November 25, 2026.

Please call or text 334-475-3444 before bringing anything to the store. If you call, please leave a message—we’ll be checking messages regularly.

Because our needs are changing quickly, we’ll let you know what items—and approximately how many—we can consider when your appointment is confirmed.

WHAT WE’RE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR

We are concentrating on desirable items that have the best opportunity to sell quickly.

HANDBAGS

We are especially interested in better-brand and luxury handbags, including Brighton, Coach, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Dooney & Bourke, Brahmin, Betsey Johnson, Patricia Nash, Hobo, and similar brands.

Before bringing a handbag, please make sure it is:

• Clean inside and outside
• Free from odors
• Free from peeling or excessive corner wear
• Free from ink stains and heavy interior staining
• In good working order, with no broken zippers, damaged closures, missing pull tabs, or broken straps
• Authentic—no counterfeit handbags

JEWELRY

We are looking for real gold and silver, Brighton, Sorrelli, Tiffany & Co., and other distinctive or better-quality jewelry.

Before bringing jewelry, please make sure it is:

• Clean and free from tarnish
• Complete, with no missing stones or pieces
• In good working order, including clasps and earring backs
• Separated into small plastic bags to prevent tangling and damage

SELECT LADIES’ CLOTHING

We are accepting a limited amount of current, excellent-condition clothing from our better-selling brands. These may include Chico’s, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, LOFT, Free People, Kate Spade, J. Crew, Talbots, Ming Wang, Lulu-B, Ralph Lauren, Johnny Was, John Mark, and similar brands.

All clothing must be:

• Clean and freshly prepared
• On hangers
• Free from stains, odors, pet hair, pulls, pilling, holes, and excessive wrinkles
• Free from broken zippers, missing buttons, and other damage
• Current in style unless it is an exceptional vintage piece

PANTS AND SHOES

We are not currently accepting ordinary pants or shoes unless they are especially desirable, current, or luxury. Please ask about them when scheduling your appointment.

Any shoes approved for consideration must be:

• Clean inside and outside
• Free from odors, scuffs, peeling, and visible toe marks
• In excellent condition, including the soles and heels
• Brought in their original box when appropriate for expensive or luxury shoes

FORMALS AND SEMI-FORMALS

Please ask before bringing formal or semi-formal dresses. We already have a large selection available in the store and must be especially selective.

Any formalwear approved for consideration must be:

• Clean and ready to wear
• On a hanger
• Minimally wrinkled
• Free from missing beads, sequins, or other embellishments
• Free from broken zippers, damaged clasps, stains, pulls, or alterations needing repair

WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING

• Value brands from stores such as Walmart, Kmart, Target, and similar retailers
• Wedding gowns
• Intimates
• Swimwear
• Items with stains, odors, pet hair, damage, excessive wear, or missing pieces
• Clothing that is generally more than three to five years old, with possible exceptions for luxury, classic, or special vintage pieces

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

□ Call or text 334-475-3444 and receive approval before coming
□ Check every item carefully in bright lighting
□ Clean and prepare everything before your appointment
□ Place clothing on hangers
□ Check pockets and remove all personal belongings
□ Bring only the items and quantities discussed when your appointment was confirmed

FINAL INTAKE AND PICKUP DATE

All new consignment intake will end November 25, 2026. November 25 is also the final day for consignors to pick up any remaining merchandise.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR CONSIGNMENT CAT?

Although the storefront is closing, Consignment Cat isn’t disappearing! Carol will be setting up an office at home and continuing online with a special focus on handbags, jewelry, and estate finds.

Formals and Semi-Formals: Please ask before bringing these. We already have a large selection available in the store.

Because our needs are changing quickly, approval and quantity will depend on the individual items. Please do not bring a drop-off without an appointment.

FINAL INTAKE AND PICKUP DATE

All new consignment intake will end November 25, 2026. This is also the final day for consignors to pick up any remaining items.
